Mediation

Mediation is a negotiation between two (or more) individuals, with the help of an experienced mediator.

Mediation can be faster, cheaper, and more private than proceeding to court. 

In mediation, we assist parties in reaching an agreement on issues such as:

• child support and/or spousal support payments
• division and equalization of property
• developing parenting plans for children

Christopher J. Unruh is a trained mediator who obtained a Certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation from Conrad Grebel University College in 2018.

As your mediator, he brings his family law experience and knowledge of the many different ways to resolve family law issues to assist you in finding creative solutions.  

When acting as a mediator, we do not take sides, make decisions for you, or provide legal advice. 

We offer remote mediation services through Zoom or Google Meet videoconference, or in-person mediation services at our office. 

We offer mediation packages starting at $2,500 + HST, which covers an individual meeting with all parties and a first mediation session of up to three hours.  

We can only act as your mediator or your lawyer, not both.  When contacting us, you will need to decide whether you want to retain us as your mediator, or assist you as a lawyer.
